Puppy thief caught on tape
From Staff Reports
On Thursday at 3:05 p.m., a 3-month-old Shih Tzu puppy was stolen from the Petland store in Frisco. The suspect is described to be an African American male, about 6'4" and 220 lbs. At the time of the theft he was wearing sunglasses and his left eye was bloodshot. The man was caught on the store's surveillance footage that was turned over to the police that afternoon.
The suspect was socializing with the puppy while the employee that was assisting him was obtaining his paperwork. During that time he got up and left the store with the puppy. The theft was caught on camera and the store sprung to action.
Petland has all of their puppies implanted with a microchip and protected by HelpmefindMYPET.com, an alert service for lost or stolen pets. Petland immediately reported the missing puppy to HelpmefindMYPET.com and an alert was sent out to all of the pet community within a 50 mile radius of the Petland store. The alert that was sent out to the community included a photo of the puppy, physical description, and microchip information.
