Legacy Christian V-ballers clean up Frisco
By Carly Engibous, Special Contributor
The Varsity Volleyball team from Legacy Christian Academy spent the morning of Sept. 26 cleaning up the streets of Frisco near the school’s campus off of Legacy Drive. Instead of sleeping in on their weekend, the team was up and on the streets at 9 a.m. with trash bags.
“We fought through extreme mosquitoes and allergies, but we all enjoyed picking up trash along our section of Legacy,” said head coach Christy Williams.
The team chose this as a service project. Legacy Christian students participate in various service projects throughout the year. The group ended up with 10 bags of trash, a few mosquito bites and a morning full of memories.
“It was great to see all the girls work hard outside of their practice; they did not complain once all morning,” Williams said.
“In order to be a leader, you have to be a servant, and contributing in an area outside of the volleyball court is good for their hearts. We had a good time,” Williams added. “Who would have thought we’d enjoy picking up other people's trash?”
