Scouts raise money through tree sales
Boy Scouts Troop 51 is selling Christmas trees from a Frisco Square lot on Main Street between World Cup and Pizza Hut Park’s south gate. Enter the parking lot off the driveway next to Firehouse Subs.
A second lot is located at First United Methodist Church, 7659 Preston Road. The church sponsors both lots.
Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Waxahachie, is holding its Fall 2009 commencement on Friday. Among the 150 graduates is Calvin L. Torbert of Frisco with a bachelor’s degree in General Ministries.
Teresa Sines of Frisco has graduated from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, with a Master of Business Administration from the College of Business and Public Administration.
Gatti Town Jingle Bell Jam
Have some Holiday fun Saturday at Gatti Town, 3251 Preston Road, and enjoy Carolers, arts and crafts, face painting, cookie decorating, Santa and a book signing by the author of “The Christmas Pumpkin.”
Bring in a food donation for Frisco Family Services Center and receive $1 off meal. Purchase the autographed copy of “The Christmas Pumpkin” and $1 will be donated to FFSC. For information, visit www.friscocenter.org.
Holiday Concert Monday
Candles, choreography, holiday lights, and the angelic voices of children will capture and delight your hearts as the Children’s Chorus of Collin County presents their 2009 holiday concert at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano.
This year’s program, entitled “Winter Lights….a twinkle, a flicker, a glow” will feature guest artists: The Davidson Brothers Trio, Goeffrey Golden, cellist and Santa Claus.
Tickets are $8.00 for adults and may be purchased at the door. Free admission is provided to all school-age children. More information available at www.childrenschorusofcollincounty.org.
Children’s Chorus auditions
The Children’s Chorus of Collin County is searching for additional boys and girls who would like to be part of this professional chorus. Auditions will be offered 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 19 at
5801 W. Plano Parkway, Plano.

The Chorus is for boys and girls in grades 4-8 who have unchanged voices. Space is limited. Call early to schedule audition time.

Residents needing assistance can call LegalLine at (214) 220-7476 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. LegalLine is a community service for Dallas area residents, provided the second and third Wednesdays of each month. On these designated nights, anonymous lawyers are available to answer questions in many law-related areas ranging from divorce and child support matters, to wills, insurance, employment and criminal law matters.
Home for Holidays concert Dec. 19
Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with the annual Home for the Holidays concert on at 4 p.m. Dec. 19 at Centennial High School. City of Frisco Mayor and Mrs. Maso welcome the Plano Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of classic Christmas music conducted by Maestro Hector Guzman. This year's carols will be sung by soprano Laurie Gayle Stephenson, a
former Broadway star whose credits include “Phantom of the Opera” and “The Secret Garden.”
