On Saturday, May 19 at 3 p.m., Vista Ridge Mall will host a My School’s Cool rally to announce the top three schools that have earned the most total points during the 2011-12 program. My School’s Cool is a special community program that awards a total of $20,000 in cash prizes to participating schools over the course of a school year.

Ten schools in the Lewisville and Coppell school districts have participated in My School’s Cool at the Lewisville shopping center, earning points based on Vista Ridge Mall receipts turned in on behalf of their schools and through a variety of extra-credit opportunities. Three schools, New Tech High@Coppell, Denton Creek Elementary and McAuliffe Elementary, were mid-year winners, sharing in $5,000 in cash prizes. The three schools with the most total points during the 2011-12 school year will share the remaining $15,000.

According to Leanne Lowry, general manager of the shopping center, Vista Ridge Mall receipts dated Monday, August 1, 2011 to Sunday, May 13 can be submitted to earn points for any of the participating schools. “Receipts from Vista Ridge Mall that fall in the August 1 to May 13 time frame are eligible. So, the participating schools should encourage friends, neighbors and relatives with eligible receipts to turn them in,” said Ms. Lowry.

Vista Ridge Mall receipts with qualifying dates must be dropped into one of the school lockers located on the lower level in Center Court next to Oasis Cafe or turned in to the respective school for redemption prior to the deadline of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Shoppers who wish to retain receipts may take advantage of the Points Pass program by stopping in at the mall office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for receipt validation.
