Carrollton officer taken to hospital after wreck

A traffic crash Wednesday morning resulted in a Carrollton police officer being taken to the hospital to treat his injuries.
The accident happened at the intersection of Old Denton Road and Whitlock Lane. The officer was working special traffic enforcement when he was struck on the driver’s side of the car. The officer was able to radio that he needed an ambulance and a civilian also got on the police radio to request assistance.
The officer was removed from the vehicle and transported to Parkland Hospital where he is in stable condition. The driver that hit the officer’s car was taken to Baylor University Medical center with non-life-threatening-injuries. Lt. Doug Mitchell from the Carrollton Police Department said they do not know who is at fault at this time.
