BLAKELY

Grover Cleveland Blakely, age 93, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2012.
He was born November 5, 1918, in Grayson County, Texas, to Grady and Pearlee (Nelson) Blakely.

On July 11, 1944, Grover married Pauline Janet Wallis in McKinney, Texas.

He graduated from Howe High School.

He lived in Dallas for many years, where he was a donut salesman. He moved to Melissa in the 1980s.

Grover loved gospel music.

He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Parish of Mabank, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Grover is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline J. Blakely; parents, Grady and Pearlee Blakely; brother, L.E. Blakely; and sisters, Chrystell McDonald, Ruth Basham, and Rhea Schue.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
