WEB EXCLUSIVE: Coats drafted by Baltimore Orioles

TCU junior, and Plano West alumnus, Jason Coats was selected Tuesday in the 2011 MLB Draft.
Coats was taken in the 12th round with the 365th overall pick by the Baltimore Orioles. Coats has been a staple in left field in his time at TCU, playing in 186 games and making 182 starts.
During his time with the Horned Frogs, Coats has 157 RBIs (which rank fifth in program history) and 56 doubles (third in program history). Coats is a career .335 hitter that has tallied 74 multi-hit games, 43 multi-RBI contests, 10 triples and 27 home runs.
