Collin Creek Mall hosts Battle of the Badges Blood Drive June 16

On Saturday, June 16, in support of the Plano Fire and Police departments, Collin Creek Mall hosts the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, which pits the firefighters against the police officers to see which group will collect the most blood donations and take home the coveted Battle of the Badges trophy.

The Carter BloodCare mobile donor unit will be in the parking lot on the east side near Sears from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Individuals who donate during this time can cast a ballot for either group and help determine which badge will win.

Walk-in donors are welcome, but individuals can make an appointment by calling 817.412.5245. Donors with appointments will be taken first.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a parent’s consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. Photo ID is required. There is no upper age limit for donors, and most medications do not interfere with donor eligibility.
