Edna Josephine Gilbreath, age 89, of Lewisville passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Plano, TX.
Edna was born March 31, 1923, in Parks, Arkansas, to John Augustus and Nannie Ila Franklin.She married Ray Gilbreath, September 7, 1946, in Honey Grove, Texas.
She enjoyed gardening and many years of traveling with her husband in their RV.
She was a lifelong Christian and member of Northview Baptist Church since 1992.
Edna is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ray of Lewisville; one daughter, Linda Jackson and husband, David, of Valley View; three sons, Danny Gilbreath and loving companion, Stansel Stephens of Dallas, John Gilbreath and wife, Carla, of Lewisville and Craig Gilbreath and wife, Sharon, of Keller; one sister, Alyene Bradshaw, of Stanton, Texas; six grandchildren, Tina Sams, Kelly Anderson, Nicholas Gilbreath, Ashley Lewis, Jennifer Gilbreath, and Melissa Gilbreath; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Ila Franklin and one brother, Neal Franklin.
Funeral services were held on June 20th, 2012 at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment followed at Allens Chapel Cemetery in Fannin County.
