Flower Mound 15u basketball team takes title in Austin
Larry Goin
On July 1st in Austin the local Flower Mound Fast Break 15u boys basketball team went 5-0 and brought home the champtionship title at the PrimeTime SDS Fund Classic.
In the current world of select and expensive youth sports, Fast Break is a little different than most tournament teams. They are all local homegrown players with the majority having been together for 10 years, starting in kindergarten. They are a "backyard" team competing against tournament teams who pull players from all over. Fast Break has no tryouts. They have no fees. There are no paid coaches. Playing time is not an issue. It's not about winning.
"Most importantly, they are all great boys. They are hardworking, unselfish and play well together. I am truly blessed to be part of this unique team" says head coach Larry Goin. "What these boys accomplished in Austin was a result of their hardwork and teamwork. I'm so happy for them."
Congratulations Fast Break.
