Officials find body of missing boater

On Tuesday, after a three-day search, officials found the body of a man who went missing on Lake Lewisville near Sneaky Pete's.
Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens and the Lewisville Fire Department dive team began the search for a man who jumped into Lake Lewisville Sunday morning, but never resurfaced. Capt. Neal Bieler, with the game wardens, said the man went into the lake about 10 a.m. to retrieve a piece of equipment that fell off his sailboat.
"One other passenger, who was wearing a life jacket, jumped off the boat to try and find him," Bieler said.
"We used sonar technology for the past two days, but had a hard time reading it because of the depth of the water and the location in the lake. He was in water that was about 30 feet deep, which makes it hard to read the sonar," Bieler said. "It was windy on Sunday and because it was a sailboat, the other passengers couldn't turn the boat around very fast. Once they did, they couldn't see him."
This is the sixth drowning on Lake Lewisville this summer.
