To make sure students are on target with classroom fashion, Steve Kemble, America’s Sassiest Lifestyle Guru and General Growth Properties (GGP) style expert, offers these tips and trends to help make shopping a little easier:
While pint-sized skinny jeans have been popular for a while, for back to school students will find them in a rainbow of colors including neons. They’re the perfect pop of color for the playground and look great paired with basics like tees and polos.
Prints, please. No doubt influenced heavily by adult fashion, prints (stars, florals, chevron stripes and more) are trickling down to the younger set and involve more than just graphic tees. Printed tights, tops, dresses, pants and even cords will be plentiful in the school hallways this year.
British Invasion – thanks to the upcoming London Olympic Games, the British are coming in more ways than one. Union Jack motifs, plaids, satchels and Harry Potter-esque uniform styles will all be popular for fall.
Metallics are also big for accessories like handbags and backpacks and shoes. They are also turning up in certain clothing styles like leggings.
