Daycare worker arrested for child sex abuse

McKinney police and Joint East Texas Task Force members Tuesday arrested a daycare worker suspected of child sexual abuse.
Jordan Ronald Smith, 23, was arrested and booked into the Collin County Detention Center on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Smith is an employee with Little Professor's Montessori Learning Academy, located at 520 N. McDonald St. in eastern McKinney.
When asked Wednesday to comment on the allegations, another employee of the daycare center first said, "No, thank you," then said she didn't know anything about an investigation. The center was closed the same afternoon.
Deputy Chief Joe Ellenburg said police cannot yet provide any additional information about the case while the investigation continues.
