LCA shuts down opposition
It would be quite an understatement to say the Eagles overmatched Irving The Highlands during last week’s game.
The Eagles dominated from the opening kick off and rolled to a 58-0 victory after a 41-point first quarter.
Senior running Ovie Urevbu ran for 136 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries, while quarterback Adam Beck also passed the 100-yard mark on the ground.
Beck completed 3-of-5 pass attempts for 82 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions while adding 113 yards and two scores on the ground.
It wasn’t just the LCA offense that dominated Friday. The Eagles defense held The Highlands to just 99 yards of total offense while forcing a pair of takeaways.
The victory improved LCA to 4-1 on the season with a 7:30 p.m. home game against Rockwall Christian up next.
The game will be the final non-district action of the season, as the Eagles open district Oct. 12 against Flower Mound Coram Deo Academy.
