12-5A FOOTBALL

Published: Thursday, October 11, 2012 4:01 PM CDT
Quick look: It seems like every week is the biggest of the season for Mesquite and that is the case once again when it takes on crosstown rival Horn with first place in 12-5A on the line.

The Skeeters have already taken down contenders Longview and Rockwall-Heath and a victory on Friday would cement them as the odds-on favorite to claim the district title.

North Mesquite picked up a big win last Friday against Tyler Lee and can give an added boost to its playoff hopes by defeating winless Rockwall on Friday.

Outside of the Mesquite ISD teams, Longview and Rockwall-Heath will meet on Friday in a game that could loom large as far as playoff seeding is concerned.
