Hedrick Middle School makes learning relevant, engaging

Hedrick Middle School (HMS) sixth- through eighth-grade ESL (English as a Second Language) students in David Corliss' class a Hedrick Middle School aren't learning vocabulary by copying definitions from the dictionary. During the class, which integrates several subject matters, students' winning instincts are kicking in as they actively use their English skills in all four areas of communication (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) in a race to identify words and answer questions. Math was even integrated in to the lesson.
