Dragon drama scares up time travel
The Carroll Theatre Department will bring back to the community of Southlake its sixth annual Haunted House, opening Friday and continuing weekends through Oct. 31 at Carroll Senior High School.
Guests will be transported on an adventure for thrills through the ages. With two different performance versions of "scary" and "friendly", the Haunted House will be a great memory for the entire family. "Haunted House: The Mystery Time Machine" will be open the following dates and times: Friday, Saturday, Oct. 19, 20, 26, and 27 from 7-11:30 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 7-10 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each and are now on sale. Guests can purchase tickets at www.dragondrama.net. A limited number of 'Fast Passes' will also be available for sale at the venue each night. These will cost an additional $10 each and will move you straight to the front of the line.
Carroll AP boosters announce scholarship details
Each year the Carroll AP boosters select one outstanding student for the Cheryl Shankman Study Abroad Scholarship. The scholarship is open to current Carroll ISD sophomore, junior and senior students for district-sponsored travel abroad student programs. Applications will be accepted now through Nov. 2.
College fair coming to CSHS
The annual CISD College Fair will be held at Carroll Senior High School from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 17 in the Student Activities Center. College and universities from across the country will be in attendance.
Play It Forward Southlake seeking donations
Play It Forward Southlake is teaming up with Play It Forward Northwest for "Rivals As One" night Oct. 19 at the Carroll-Northwest football game. The two organizations are hosting a sports equipment donation drive to benefit the Dorothy Moore Youth Center in Dallas. Bring new or used pieces of sports equipment to donate at the game and come meet pro players from the Pro Players Foundation. The donation trailer will be set up on the home side of Dragon Stadium from 5-10 p.m. Barrels will also be located on the visitor side. Those donating receive a free Play It Forward Southlake wristband.
LeanLocal announces partnership with Carroll ISD
LeanLocal, a Palm Coast, Florida-based technology company, recently launched LeanLocal.com, an online way to find, connect to and support local businesses. The company also announced its national partnership with Carroll ISD to help raise funds for the district's extracurricular programs.
Bus passes available
Be sure to purchase a Carroll ISD bus pass for the 2012-13 school year. Parents have three ways to purchase this year's $250 bus pass. The easiest option is purchasing online at www.southlakecarroll.edu. Parents also have the option to fill out the bus fee form and mail or return to CISD with the payment. The cap per family is $500.
