BURKETT
Calvin T. Burkett, Jr. of Dallas, Texas passed away October 23, 2012 at the age of 81.
He was born December 27, 1930 to Calvin T. Sr. and Mary Kathleen (Tucker) Burkett in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Calvin married Norma J. Williams on December 10, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was an active volunteer in his community. Calvin loved to read, fish and garden. He also had a passion for classical music and all aspects of nature. Calvin and his wife Norma were avid ballroom dancers.
He is survived by his children, Calvin Burkett III of Wylie, Texas, Christina Leney of Dallas, Texas, Kyle Burkett and wife Lana of Caddo Mills, Texas; grandchildren, Jason Leney of Dallas, Texas; Heather Joshua and husband Jon of Wylie, Texas; Justin Burkett and wife Susan of Fate, Texas; Jamieson Burkett of Balch Springs, Texas; Lindsey Burkett of Caddo Mills, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Billie Burkett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephews, Jimmy and Gary Burkett also of Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Norma Burkett.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, October 27. 2012 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
