Oscar Edge, 89 years of age, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2012, with his loving wife and family by his side.
Oscar was a long-time resident of Lewisville, Texas and moved to Pensacola in 2006.Oscar was born in Huntsville, Alabama on August 11, 1923 to Lonnie Lee Edge and Mattie Fain Edge.
He was a loving husband to his wife, father to his children, grandpa to his grandchildren, great-grandpa to his great-grandchildren and friend to his friends.
He loved the country life and was well-liked by all. You will always remember him by the bright yellow measuring tape suspenders that were his trademark. No matter where he went all spoke to him about them.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Lee Edge and son-in-law, Darryl Vernon Payne.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Edge; sister, Betty Underwood of Odessa, TX; sons, Lloyd Lee Edge (Sue Gee) of Seminole, FL and Michael E. Edge (Jackie) of Pensacola; daughter, Sonia G. Payne of Pensacola, FL; two grandsons, John M. Edge (Amy) of Denton, TX and Kevin P. Edge of Holiday, FL; one granddaughter, Amanda L. Davenport (James) of Leechburg, PA; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Alexis, Savannah, Zeraea, Kevin, Noah, Kaylee, Nicholas and Elias; and many friends in Texas and Florida.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Reverend Stephen Linck officiating. Interment was at Bayview Memorial Park. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday. BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is in charge of arrangements.
