Town begins residential rehabilitation program

The town of Flower Mound began a Residential Rehabilitation Program on Oct. 1 to assist low- and moderate-income homeowners in Flower Mound with the rehabilitation of their single-family, owner-occupied houses through the use of a grant, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Applicants must meet HUD income requirements, have an eligible property for repairs, and repairs need to be feasible for rehabilitation. Once all criteria are met, applicants will receive program assistance in the form of a forgivable loan up to $60,000, which will be forgiven over the course of five years. Once funds are committed, the program will be suspended until additional funds are available.

For information, visit www.flower-mound.com/index.aspx?nid=1016 or call the town’s grants coordinator at 972-874-6082.
