Clifford Franklin Short, 77, of Wake Village, Texas, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Christus St. Michael Hospital.
Mr. Short was born May 10, 1935, in McKinney to Frank Short and the former DeEtte Dickens.
He was a 1954 graduate of Boyd High School. He retired from National Cash Register, and Red River Army Depot, was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Lovinggood Short of Wake Village, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher D. and Cornelia Short of Navarre, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Katherine Short Wichterich and her husband, Chris, of Arlington, Texas and Kelley Ann Short Powell and her husband, Jack, of Azle, Texas; a sister, Amy Hernandez of Carrolton, Texas; one brother, Tillman Short of McKinney, Texas; one special niece, Amanda Rogers of Farmersville, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Mary Margaret and John-Clifford (JC) Short, Madison, Connor, Garrett and Chelsea Wichterich, Cameron and his wife, Kristen, Jacob, Alexander and Madalyn Powell, and numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Texarkana. A reception will be held at St James Episcopal Church Great Hall immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Chapelwood Funeral Home.
