"You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" debuted in 1967 with music and lyrics by Clark Gesner, based on characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip Peanuts. It had a four-year New York run with nearly 1,600 performances and was revived with a 1998 U.S. tour.
The musical comedy tells the story of an average day in the life of the famous comic strip child hero, Charlie Brown. The audience is introduced to the whole Peanuts gang: Patty, Shroeder, Lucy, Snoopy and more. All of the characters share their observations of Charlie Brown.
As the play progresses, the relationships of the Peanuts characters to one another are further expanded. Lucy is infatuated with Schroeder and takes great pleasure in tormenting Charlie Brown. Linus loves his blanket. Snoopy lives in his rich imagination. Charlie Brown is in love with a mysterious red-headed girl. The show ends with each character listing things that for him or her equal happiness.
The Acting Studio is operated in Grapevine by owners Shane and Erica Peterman, both of whom are members of the Actors' Equity Association with dozens of performing credits in the United States and Europe. Professional staff at The Acting Studio teach classes in voice, dance and acting for stage and film for students of all ages, including classes for younger children ages 3-7 up through adults. Students have the opportunity to perform in local shows as well as regional tours.
