Residents to decide contested races

On Tuesday, residents will head to the polls to cast their vote not only for the next president of the United States, but for many contested state races.
On Election Day, voters must vote at the location their precinct is assigned. For precinct information visit www.elections.dentoncounty.com. Early voting was held Oct. 22 through Friday. As of Friday, more than 18,200 Lewisville residents have voted, approximately 18,500 Flower Mound residents have voted and just over 5,700 Highland Village residents have voted.
"I haven't heard of any major issues with early voting. Everything is going really well and today [Friday] has been very busy," said Frank Phillips, elections administrator. "Voting started really strong - stronger than 2008. Yesterday, we were about 9,000 under what we were in 2008. Even though it picked up today, I still think we will come in under 2008's early voting numbers."
