Mesquite enjoyed three blowout wins and was within a point of a perfect run last weekend at the Flower Mound Lady Jaguar Tournament.
The Skeeters, who moved over .500 with a 4-3 overall record, closed out the event with a pair of decisive victories over Lakeview and Killeen Shoemaker.
The Patriots were able to keep it close early, but Mesquite went on a 25-7 run during the second and third periods to blow the game open en route to a 47-27 victory.
Brianna Williams paced the offense with 15 points, while Briana Caro and Mica Curtis-Wilson each added 11.
The Skeeters were never threatened in a 61-18 win over Killeen Shoemaker. They opened the game on a 19-6 run and led 36-10 at halftime.
It was a similar story on Friday, as Mesquite routed Arlington Lamar, 85-47. The Skeeters again used a strong start, jumping to a 26-10 lead and they scored 50 points in the first half.
Plenty of players got into the scoring effort, led by Caro's 22 points. Thomas was also in double figures with 16, while Curtis-Wilson and Brittany Pearson each scored eight.
Mesquite's lone blemish at the event came in the opener on Thursday with a 52-51 loss to Rowlett.
The Skeeters battled back from an early deficit to take a 43-39 lead through three quarters, but the Eagles closed with a 13-8 run to eke out the win.
Tiara Alsaid scored 21 points and Viershanie Latham and Pearson each added nine.
Mesquite was scheduled to play a pair of games prior to Thanksgiving against Ursuline on Monday and Lake Highlands on Tuesday.
After a short break, they were slated to return to action on Tuesday on the road against Allen.
Horn and North Mesquite were not in tournaments last week, but they did pick up victories in non-district play.
The Jaguars continued their hot start as they raced to a 24-14 halftime lead and never looked back in a 44-37 win over Wylie East on Friday to improve to 5-2 on the season.
Lauren Bradshaw paced Horn with 14 points while Alex Smith chipped in with eight.
The Jaguars played West Mesquite on Monday and will host Wylie on Tuesday.
North Mesquite used 12 points from Racheal Malone, nine from Kara Hitt and eight by Makqhuisha Carruth in a 47-43 win over Cleburne on Friday.
The Stallions, who have now won back-to-back games to improve to 2-4, are scheduled to host Poteet on Tuesday.
