Rowlett entered Tuesday's game with Rockwall with the best non-district record among the Garland ISD teams.

Even after a 36-30 loss to the Yellow Jackets, the Eagles still have the best record in 10-5A, although it is not a sparkling one at 6-7.

Rowlett and Rockwall did not put up a lot of offense, but the game was tight throughout.

The Eagles led by one after the first quarter, and despite scoring only six points in the second, extended the advantage to 18-16.

The Yellow Jackets were able to eke ahead by a point through three quarters and then closed the game on a 9-4 run to pull away.

Taylee Alexander scored nine points and Mersades Carter added eight for Rowlett.

The Eagles will compete in the Commerce Tournament starting today and concluding on Saturday.

The start of 11-5A play is set for early next week, but Rowlett has a bye and will get a final district tune-up on Monday against North Mesquite

Sachse, which fell to 5-8 on Tuesday with a 54-39 loss to Plano, will play at Rockwall on Friday.

The Mustangs will then open district play on Tuesday when they host North Garland.
