CHANDLER

Ruby Chandler was born to Hamliton Carlise Sweeney and Alice Gilbert Sweeney on August 8, 1925, in Chickasaw, Oklahoma, and passed away November 30, 2012, in Forney, Texas, at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Lester Chandler and her parents, Carl and Alice Sweeney.
Ruby is survived by her son, Harold Chandler and wife, Regina of East Tawakoni, Texas; daughters, Carolyn Foster and husband, Larry of Forney, Texas, and Shirley Whitfield and husband, Elwood of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, Jimmy Sweeney; sisters, Judi Riggs and Maline Ragan; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Ruby had been a resident of Rowlett, Texas for 37 years and retired after 25 years of service from the Veteran Hospital as a food supervisor. She was a longtime member of the Rowlett Church of Christ and after moving to Forney, became a loyal member of the Forney Church of Christ.
She loved to watch the cooking shows as well as the shopping network and she was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Ruby loved the lake and was happiest with a fishing pole and a can of worms. She loved to fish and fried catfish was her favorite food. She will be dearly missed.
Family visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, from 6-8:00pm. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at Troy Suggs Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jim Eubanks officiating. Interment followed at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
