Police seeking information about armed robbery of Mesquite business (UPDATE)

The Mesquite Police Department is seeking information about a man who robbed a cashier at gunpoint at 10:24 p.m. Wednesday at a Dollar General located at 625 Pioneer Rd.
In surveillance footage of the robbery, the suspect, a black male, is wearing a gray sweater, blue jeans, a blue shirt and hat, and is armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.
After making a purchase at the store, leaving and returning to start another, the suspect pulled a gun on the cashier as she opened the register, according to information released by Mesquite police. While the register was open, he jumped the counter and put money from it in his pockets. After the robbery, he fled the scene on foot.
