Preston Road accident on Sunday leaves two dead

At 8:31 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, Frisco police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Preston Road just south of Meadow Hill Lane that left two dead.
The vehicles involved were a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and a 2004 Toyota Sienna. The female driver of the Toyota, Saadia Ghaffar, 38, succumbed to her injuries after being transported to Centennial Medical Center. Zoya Ghaffar, 2, also succumbed to her injuries after being transported to Childrens Hospital of Dallas. The third occupant of the Toyota, a 10-year-old female, was treated at Childrens Hospital of Dallas and released.
The driver of the Explorer, Cindy Castillo, 21, was transported to Medical Center of Plano, where she was treated and released. All parties involved are residents of Frisco.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Castillo was traveling northbound on Preston Road and crossed the median into southbound traffic and struck the Toyota. The Frisco Police Department is still investigating the accident.
