Josephine Dawson Wood, 78, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away January 9, 2013.
She was born Dec. 15, 1934, to Clarence and Lola Dawson.Josephine was a retired hair stylist. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Woodland Oaks Church of Christ.
Josephine is survived by three daughters and a son, Jo Ann Myers and her husband Michael of Columbus, Ohio, Karen Stevenson and her husband Dale of Frisco, Margaret Wood of The Woodlands, and David Wood and his wife Amy of Houston. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include two brothers and five sisters: Cecil Dawson of Montgomery IL, and Hoyt Dawson of Paragould AR; sisters, Charlene Johnson of Rowlett, Melba Land of Searcy AR, Bonnie Tinsley, Marvine Tedder, and Sue Carter, all of Paragould AR. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edgar Wray Wood. She was also preceded by her parents, Clarence and Lola Dawson; brothers, Robert, Charles, Herman, Wilburn, Earl and Edward Dawson; and sisters, Allene Miles, Mary Dawson and Neva Anderson.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas, on Monday January 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas. Family will receive friends one hour prior at 10:00 a.m.
