Figueroa in the cage Saturday
For the second straight year, West Plano Crossfit-trained Edwin Figueroa will be on the UFC's Super Bowl weekend card. On Saturday, Figueroa is fighting Francisco Rivera at UFC 156 in Las Vegas.
A McKinney native, Figueroa competed just once in 2012 -- a split-decision win over Alex Caceres at UFC 143 in which Caceres was penalized two points for kicks to the groin. The win upped Figueroa to 2-1 in the UFC and 9-1 overall.
Figueroa was scheduled to fight in June at UFC on FX 4 against Ken Stone before getting injured.

The up-tempo Harvesters are third in the nation in scoring at 90.6 points per game and have topped the 100-point mark 11 times, including a season-high 143-90 win against Paul Quinn.
They will try to keep their winning streak going when they host Mountain View on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eastfield.
