The Dallas Christian boys and girls basketball teams continued their strong runs through TAPPS 2-4A play on Friday by sweeping a double-header against Waco Reicher.

The Charger boys stayed perfect at 5-0 in district play and improved to 14-1 overall on the season with a 70-28 victory.

The Chargers remain one-half game behind Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill for the district lead.

Dallas Christian had a small lead early on, but then put together one of its most dominant quarters of the season. The Chargers outscored Reicher 33-2 in the second period to take a commanding 52-16 lead into halftime.

Dallas Christian kept the defensive clamps on, allowing only 12 points in the second half as they cruised to victory.

The Chargers had four players in double figures, led by Hayden Baker with 13 points. Justis Nelson had 12 points, while Cameron Martin and Alex Craig added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Dallas Christian girls put on a similar performance, moving to 14-11 overall and 4-1 in district play with a 67-41 win over Reicher.

The win lifts DC past Reicher and into second place in district play, trailing only undefeated Tyler T.K. Gorman.

The Chargers opened a double-digit lead after just one quarter, but Reicher hung around and was within 40-29 at the end of three quarters.

Dallas Christian ended any drama in the fourth, outscoring Reicher 27-12 to blow the game open.

Hunter Cauley led all scorers with 26 points, while Ashlan Miles added 17 and Maddie England chipped in with 10.

The Charger boys and girls will get a few extra days off this week before returning to the court on Friday to host a double-header against Tyler Grace Community.
