Ebby Halliday names Tony Grogan director of information technology
By Steve Smith
Ebby Halliday Real Real Estate Inc. has appointed Tony Grogan director of information technology. Mary Frances Burleson, president and chief executive officer, recently made the announcement.
“Tony brings extensive information-technology and management experience -- and well-honed analytical skills -- that will ensure Ebby Halliday remains at the forefront of technology,” says Ms. Burleson. “I am confident that his background and experience will benefit our clients and Associates in many ways.”
Grogan is a graduate of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Physics. Previously he managed the Information Technology Department at an AT&T call center that employed 1,000 people; served as the director of information technology for a company that helps schools save energy; and served as a senior business analyst, specializing in point-of-sales data.
Grogan, who grew up in an Air Force family, recently moved to the Dallas area from Corpus Christi with his wife, who is a REALTOR®, and their two children, ages 7 and 16 months.
Grogan says one of his top priorities in his new role is getting out to the company’s branch offices to meet Associates and staff members to learn first-hand about their technology needs. “Technology should never be a hindrance,” Grogan says. “Rather it should serve to assist our clients and agents in reaching their goals.”
At Ebby Halliday, Grogan will oversee an Information Technology Department that has long been a leader in the residential real estate industry. The firm’s award-winning website is one of the busiest in the industry, with more than 16,000 visits per day.
When he is not working, Grogan enjoys spending time with his family. His interests include fishing, biking, hiking, camping and hockey.
Dallas-based Ebby Halliday Real Estate Inc. is the largest independently owned residential real estate company in Texas and ranks 12th in the nation. The company includes Ebby Halliday Realtors and Dave Perry-Miller & Associates, and has approximately 1,500 sales associates and staff in 29 area offices who participated in almost 16,000 property transactions in 2012 with a sales volume of approximately $4.8 billion. Founded by Ebby Halliday in 1945, the company is today one of the oldest and most respected full-service residential real estate firms in the country, offering brokerage, leasing, mortgage, insurance and title services.
