12-5A BOYS SOCCER: Skeeters, Stallions get off to rough start in 12-5A

The 12-5A season did not start the way Mesquite and North Mesquite were hoping on Friday.

The Skeeters were blanked by defending district champion Longview in a 3-0 loss.

Rockwall, meanwhile, used goals from Micah Day and Jonathan Otto to post a 2-0 win over North Mesquite.

Tyler Lee rounded out the winners on the first day of 12-5A action as it posted a 2-0 shutout of Rockwall-Heath.

The Skeeters and Stallions will return to the field in search of their first district points when they meet on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at E.H. Hanby Stadium.

Horn, which had a bye on Friday, will play its 12-5A opener on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at Berry Middle School.
