A benefit concert, The First Annual Ray Rock, has been scheduled for Saturday at Scooters Tavern in Sanger for Raylyn Stenger, a Sanger baby who is battling a heart condition.
Stenger was born Oct. 22, but on Dec. 17, she fell ill with a virus and was rushed to Cooks Children’s Hospital. By Jan. 2, her family was meeting with a heart transplant team at Children’s Medical Dallas. Despite having insurance, the family’s out-of-pocket expenses will be substantial.
Scooters Tavern in Sanger has offered their facilities free of charge for the event. At least eight local bands have volunteered to play, local vendors are offering to prepare smoked briskets for sale or auction, local companies are offering goods and or services for the auction and a professional auctioneer has offered their services as well.
Organizers are asking for monetary donations, additional goods or services for the auction and as much publicity as possible.
