McCURLEY

Christopher C. McCurley, 88, of Flower Mound, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2013.
He was born on April 15, 1924, in McCurley Prairie, Texas, to Andrew and Maude (Crites) McCurley.
Chris married Frances (Pat) Meadows on October 9, 1947, two years after returning from World War II, where he served the U.S. for three years. He was based on Saipan and flew 27 missions although he needed only to fly 25 to fulfill his responsibilities. However, due to being grounded for an illness on the 22nd mission where his entire crew was lost, he volunteered for extra duty.
He served as a deacon for 30 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lewisville. He was employed by E-Systems in Garland for 35 years. Chris loved gardening, playing piano and harmonica, and studying history.
Chris is survived by his wife, Frances Pat McCurley; children, Linda McCurley of Kauai, HI, Kay McCurley of Flower Mound, David McCurley of Flower Mound, and Barbara Snowden of Argyle; grandchildren, Lauren Hansen of Seabrooke, John Hansen of Flower Mound, and Hunter Snowden and Saylor Snowden of Argyle; sister, Helen Peach; brother, Dan McCurley; and sons-in-law, Gilbert Adair of Kauai, HI, and John Snowden of Argyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Fred, Jack, Homer and Carl; and sisters Marie, Etta, and Ann.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013, at Temple Baptist Church, 2501 Northshore Blvd., Flower Mound, TX 75028. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at the McCurley Cemetery.
