Harvard girls track and field won the Ivy League Indoor Championships for the first time since 2000 last weekend.
Freshman Madison Hansen, a Plano East alum, played a part by placing fifth in the pentathlon. The Crimson received two points from Hansen and her score of 3,587 was the fourth-best pentathlon mark ever recorded at Harvard.
Dolberry sets scoring mark
Palm Beach Atlantic senior Ashley Dolberry, a Plano Senior alum, became her college's all-time leading scoring last week.
Dolberry's career mark of 1,132 points surpassed that of Jo Jo Vital-Herne (Class of 2002).
Dolberry set the record with 23 points on the road versus Barry University. The accolades don't stop there as Dolberry was recently named to the Capital One Division II Academic All-America second team. Dolberry, who will attend dentistry school after graduation, holds a 3.96 GPA to go along with her team-best 15.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Planoite wins free throw contest
Brian Hallum was red hot from the charity stripe Saturday in Carrollton, winning the Texas Elks State Association Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest.
Hallum, who attends Daffron Elementary, won the 8-9 year old boys division, which featured eight other district champions from around the state. He did so by sinking 20-of-25 attempts from the free throw line and an additional 5-of-5 in a tie-breaking shootout for the competition's top spot.
The Planoite advances to the four-state regional contest, which is March 23 in Carrollton. Should Hallum emerge victorious there, the national finals are Apr. 20 in Springfield, Mass.
Michael continues racing ascent
TJ Michael, a 15-year-old Plano resident, has joined Kenny Clark Racing and will drive the No. 8 305 Sprint Car for the 2013 season.
Michael will be mentored by Bobby Clark and Scott Bartson as he runs the F.A.S.T. Race Series.
Michael is looking to improve on a successful 2012 in which he picked up 22 feature wins, including first-place finishes at the Texas Motor Speedway Pro Legend Track Championship and USLCI Nationals Pro Race of Champions at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Groselle a Senior CLASS finalist
The Citadel senior Mike Groselle is a finalist for the Senior Class Award in men's basketball.
Groselle is a Plano West alum.
The award combines community, classroom, character and competition in its voting process.
Groselle excels in those categories.
The center is already 13th on The Citadel's all-time points list (1,238), third in total rebounds (686) and eighth in field goals made (501). Groselle has the highest field goal percentage in the 102-year history of the program and is the all-time leader in career double-doubles (25) and single season double-doubles (14 in 2011-12).
Groselle has done well off the court too.
The civil engineering major has a 3.693 GPA and holds the rank of captain on the team, which gives him captain rank in the Corps of Cadets.
Fan voting, which accounts for one-third of the final tally, is open at: seniorclassaward.com.
Anderson picks up offers to Navy, Rice
The recruiting of Plano West junior running back Auston Anderson continues to heat up.
Anderson received his first official offer Feb. 6, Signing Day for the Class of 2013, when Northwestern came calling. Add Rice and Navy to that list with the former offering Feb. 15 and the latter Monday afternoon.
The interest in Anderson makes sense.
The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder was a first team all-district and all-Collin County selection after rushing for 1,156 yards and 13 touchdowns.
West already has one Class of 2014 commit as linebacker Lance Cottrell is pledged to SMU.
