Join the fun with Summer Adventures

Summer might begin in June, but for a few qualified individuals, it will begin Saturday, March 16. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hampton Inn, 1700 Rodeo Drive in Mesquite, Summer Adventures in Fair Park will hold a job fair for seasonal positions available for energetic and outgoing individuals.

At Summer Adventures, an oasis of fun and excitement located in the heart of Dallas, you'll work in a fun, hang-loose environment, work with cool people, and be a part of North Texas' newest attraction.

Real. Texas. Presale tickets

From March 22 to April 14, presale tickets for Mesquite's 7th Annual Real. Texas. Festival. will be available for $10. Purchase them at Rodeo Center, 1818 Rodeo Drive.

This year's event will feature Pat Green and Kevin Fowler, the Cowboys and Chrome Car Show, BBQ Cook-off, Mesquite Championship Rodeo, youth basketball tournament with a free clinic by Nancy Lieberman, and many other fun activities. Tickets are $20 at the gate.




Tax assistance available at library

AARP is providing free tax assistance for all citizens on a first-come, first-served basis, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays only at the Mesquite Public Library, 300 W. Grubb Drive. Volunteers to assist will continue to be available on March 18 and 25 and April 1, 8 and 15.

Interested individuals should bring a Social Security card or other documentation for taxpayer and dependents, a copy of last year's return and required paperwork (W-2 forms, 1099 forms, etc.).




DVAP hosting free legal clinic

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP), a joint initiative of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, will hold a free legal clinic at 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Ave. in Dallas, for Dallas County residents who meet certain financial guidelines.

Volunteer attorneys will provide free legal assistance for Dallas County residents to assist with benefits, consumer, employment, family, housing, landlord-tenant, probate, real property, tax and wills matters. DVAP does not help with criminal cases, tickets, or fee-generating cases, such as medical malpractice and personal injury matters.

DVAP provides advice, brief legal services and full representation. If residents need assistance before or after the clinic, they can attend one of the DVAP's other legal clinics held in the Dallas area eight times each month. Mesquite AMBUCS looking for new members

What are you doing for lunch Thursday? Come join us at the Dallas athletic club at noon! Good food, great people and a wonderful organization. You can't lose!

Mesquite AMBUCS is always looking for new members or all ages to make a difference in the community. AMBUCS provides individuals with disabilities with the opportunity to be mobile and enjoy life just a little better through the use of Amtrykes.
