Track and field: Farmers, Lady Dragons win team titles at Goldsmith Relays

Max Goldsmith Stadium in Lewisville was the place to be for local track and field teams Thursday as the venue hosted the annual Goldsmith Relays.
The host squad had the edge on the boys side, with the Farmers (130) narrowly outperforming second-place Southlake Carroll (126) with Hebron in third (96), Flower Mound in fourth (73), The Colony in fifth (55), Marcus in sixth (46) and Coppell in seventh (45).
On the girls side, the Lady Dragons led the way (125) and were followed by Marcus in second (120), Flower Mound in third (106), Coppell in fourth (76), Lewisville in fifth (57), Keller Central in sixth (44) and Hebron in seventh (32).
Girls winners were Marcus' Peri Moran in the long jump (17-2) and 100 (11.92), Flower Mound's Lauren Cox in the discus (105-5) and shot put (38-4), Carroll's Courtney Krieghauser in the 3,200 (10:39.87) and 1,600 (4:54.35), Marcus in the 400 relay, Lewisville's Chausse Freeman in the 100 hurdles (15.44), Marcus in the 800 relay, Flower Mound's Elizabeth Osondu in the 400 (58.09), Carroll's Sarah Robinson in the 300 hurdles (46.36) and Carroll's 1,600 relay (3:58.75).
